Nice SONY STR-6046A.The good. Great cosmetics.Wood case is pretty.Tested, all functions working fine. The not so good.Stereo lamp, FM and AUX bulbs not working.Volume knob label worn off. No damage noticed.Controls cleaned with deoxit.Dial string replaced, it was worn out and broke. Tuner tune easy and smooth.

Sony STR-6046A FM Stereo/FM-AM Receiver (Vintage 1974) - Working, needs repair. Sony FM Stereo/FM-AM Receiver STR-6046A. I am the single owner of this vintage 1974 Sony receiver. Externally and internally, its in excellent condition (no external scratches). However, it does need repair. Both the right and left channels will not produce sound until the receiver has warmed-up. Even then, the right channel can be distorted and spotty. I am guessing that capacitors, transistors or other components need to be replaced. Otherwise, all dials and lights work fine. In addition to both FM Stereo and AM radio,it accepts inputs from phono, CD, tape deck, microphone, and AUX. The receiver can be used with a separate power amplifier or an additional power amplifier. It also outputs to a tape deck for recording, to two pairs of speakers (A pair and B pair), and accepts 4 to 16 ohms speakers. Sony STR-6046A Stereo AM / FM Receiver Generally very good condition please see the photos as there is a little discolouration on the facia bezel and a minor scuff on the back edge of the wooden case about 3cm long.
