Die Sony SRS-170 Aktiv-Lautsprecher haben einen kräftigen Klang. Moderne Kopfhörerausgänge sind häufig etwas schwach aber reicht trotzdem locker für Zimmerlautstärke. Diese kompaktn Boxen, jeweils mit einer Leistung von 20 Watt, haben Netzanschluss und bieten mit den Kabeln eine zuverlässige Verbindung. Der Dynamik-Bass-Boost ermöglicht es richtig Druck einzustellen. Ich habe sie auch für E-Gitarre oder Keyboard benutzt. E-Gitarre mit zwischen geschaltetem Effektgerät macht richtig Dampf. Auf der Rückseite wurden Aluprofile montiert die es ermöglichen die Boxen an die Wand zu hängen und die Kabel aufzuwickeln. Aber schön locker sonst bricht eventuell der Kupferdraht. Außerdem wurde je eine DIN-Lautsprecherbuchse montiert. Diese Buchsen machen es möglichen, je nach dem wie rum der Stecker eingesteckt, wird den internen Lautsprecher abzuschalten oder parallel zum externen Lautsprecher betreiben.
