Designed to compliment the SL-HFR30 model. It provides a way to upgrade your Sony Beta HI-FI Ready VCR to incredible stereo sound. This upgrade strategy was a way to introduce people first to Betamax, with its great picture, then offer the option to convert it to stereo later. This HFP-100 has input selectors to provide options for recording audio signals from another VCR, TV, and audio source. The monitor selector lets you listen to stereo, or independent left and right channel sound. Bilingual selector for listening to SAP (Separate Audio Program) tracks during recordings. 16-segment LED recording level meters with automatic or manual recording level control. This control helps you get the maximum audio performance from all your Beta hi-fi recording. There is a stereo headphone jack with volume control for discretely monitoring the sound. There are also some special perks available when using this add-on stereo adapter. There is an adjustment on the back of the HFP-100 that lets you fine tune the Beta hi-fi playback. Another interesting feature is the ability to adjust the recording volume of the monaural audio track. Turning off the Beta hi-fi lets you control the audio by using the REC LEVEL slide controls. This works only when recording without the Beta hi-fi on, otherwise it will be automatically adjusted like every other monaural Beta. All Electronics have Hidden Security Codes.
