This is one heck of a digital preamp weighing in at a hefty 28 pounds. This was a flagship piece in Sonys lineup at the time it was introduced. The TA-E9000ES features 12 inputs and 5.2 channels for a complete audio-video experience. The unit is the rare Champagne color and was manufactured in Japan. It supports various audio inputs, including phono/turntable, stereo L/R RCA, sub pre out/LFE, digital optical TOSLINK, two-channel RCA, pre out, multi-channel RCA, optical digital (Toslink), and S-Video. Check the rear photo to see its full complement of inputs and outputs. There were software updates offered for this series but I do not know which version is installed in this or how to find out. I checked audio output and switching. I played music through several of the inputs. All worked as intended. I did not test video and did not completely install the unit in a system. I found no faults in what I did test. The LEDs are bright and readable from a good distance. It will come with a Sony RM-P341 remote that replaced the original digital remote that has issues. This remote controls most functions. I warrant this unit to be as described when you receive it. There is no additional warranty. Check my feedback. Dont be fooled into buying an ML-1 or other high end component that requires Lemo cable unless you already have them or have them ready to order. Otherwise you are buying a nice black brick with no use at all.
