Selling a used Sony PMC-MD55 Minidisc/CD player system. First off, I do not have any minidiscs to test its functionality. The CD player works, but I have occasionally had it struggle to read the disc. Most of the time it works fine, though. Also, the automatic opening of the CD player sometimes will not open without assistance getting it started. The screen has a lot of dead pixels, so it can be difficult to understand what it says. Lastly, the subwoofer does not output any sound. I have tried a variety of cables and hooked it up to other devices, but have not had any audio response from it. It does transfer power when the deck is plugged into it, while it is plugged into the wall. The two speakers work and sound fantastic. Radio, headphone jack, and line in ports are working. I am selling this for parts/repair, as it has a variety of issues. Hopefully someone can restore this gem of a system. This is a Sony PMC-MD55, minidisc, CD, radio, Subwoofer and an incorrect remote. The system has been stored for a long time but still works but some display segments are not working. The remote is incorrect but does control the power, volume and by pressing function the inputs can be changed. To play the MD, with the remote, you need to press a track number to start it playing rather than play - which is used for the CD. All functions can be operated by the front panel buttons. Finally, the cd lid is automated but sticks on the way up and so needs help with a finger nail but then lifts ok and returns ok. Overall, it is a quality machine that sounds good. Any questions?
