Ive used this play mainly for CDs and SACDs and it has audiophile type sound, even playing well with CDs that skip on my other players. Ive also tested it, though, to make sure the video aspect is working, and it is working fine. This was Sonys TOTL unit in its day, with a MSRP of $1000. One thing to note is that when playing a hybrid SACD disc, it will not play the SACD layer, only the CD layer. Thats the only reason I have it for parts or repair. Single layer stereo SACDs play fine. This is a common issue with older players, because the SACD layer of hybrids is harder for the laser to read. Usually this is solved by laser replacement. Sony DVP-NS999ES DVD Player CD DVD SACD Player Elevated Standards Series in good working condition. I had multiple sacds playing on multichannel mode but I also had few sacd playng on regular cd mode instead of sacd. The unit comes with the power for but without remote.

I’m now selling one of my favourite DVD players- the awesome Sony DVP 999 ES. This was the one model below the flagship DVD player from Sony about 20 years and works perfectly. No remote however. It got lost in the moving! Weighs about 7kg and plays SACD, CD and DVD- Video but not DVD- Audio. These players are rare and look and sound fantastic.
