Both were tested and they play, store bought CD’s and home made burnt ones without a hitch. Both surprisingly, also have zero issues playing extremely scratched DVDs. Unfortunately, we don’t have any burnt DVDs to test, however the manufacturer states: “Plays DVD-Video, DVD-R & DVD-RW, and DVD+R & DVD+RW” so they should play recorded DVDs just fine. Occasionally, one of the players has a sticky “open” button, the one that opens & closes the DVD/CD cover/door.. If your button appears to be stuck, simply press it again to alleviate and return to normal. Both players have a run time of about an hour, on their batteries. This is a slight degrade from new, which was around 5 hours. We’ve always kept them plugged in, while in use. No major cosmetic issues on either players, screens are scratch free, no dents or anything major on the body. Only on the bottom of them shows any typical wear for pre-owned devices.
