I purchased this new from a local/small electronics shop back in December 1991 for $600. It served me well for many years. I no longer use it, and I would like to pass it on to somebody who might like to have it. The unit powers up, but there is a problem with the tape loading mechanism. I tried to trouble-shoot it back when it first occurred, but I don’t remember the specifics. Either I couldn’t figure it out or I couldn’t get the part(s) I needed to fix it. Hopefully, you will have better luck. I included a video of the door opening/closing, but that is not the problem. There is something wrong with mechanism that pulls the tape out of the cassette. I wish I had a tape to demonstrate it. I will see if I can find one. The sale includes the tape deck, the remote, the original operating instructions manual, original packaging/cardboard box and a bunch of pamphlets/flyers that came with it. The remote is in great shape. The buttons look/function as good as new and there is no battery leakage. There is some water damage to the original cardboard box. The deck was not in the box when that happened. USPS Ground Advantage seems like the best shipping method, but I can use any shipper you wish. Just let me know. SONY DTC-700 DAT RECORDER/PLAYER - W/REMOTE & MANUAL For parts or repair. Powers on. All buttons seem to work, but wont play.

Nice DAT player/recorder, has signs of wear on corners but tested to work as follows: moves tape when pushing play,, stops, ff, rewind all work, open and closes fine. Dont know much about it so all i have to test is a blank tape so i dont know if it will make audio because nothing is on tape, cant test skip functions, seems to want to play more when you push play while the tape door is open, might be because tape is blank but at least tape reels spin properly, should be fine but is being sold as is.
