Functions perfectly in record and playback. Internal battery and drawer assembly drive belt were changed Dec 2022. Comes with remote control, which has been modified with the hack to reveal error code rates. Check the remote photo and you will see a modification to the face plate to reveal the hidden Test button. Comes with nice reproduction Owners and Service Manuals, with the updates and remote error rate code instructions. The four-motor drive system works perfectly and is smooth and quiet. This Sony DAT deck has only seen home use for all of its life, so occasional use. However, it’s not recording and playing back well: sometime produces digital hash or just stops.. Cleaning the head has helped a little but not resolved the problem, and I don’t have the equipment needed to check it out more thoroughly. It has not been dropped or otherwise physically damaged. It’s bulky to ship so I plan to bring it to Fedex to pack and ship via Fedex Ground. If you are willing to pay $30 for shipping, I’ll handle the rest if within contiguous US. Or youre welcome to pick up in downtown Chicago and skip the shipping.
