As noted, this is for PARTS OR REPAIR. I didn’t really spend any time with it, other than turning it on, throwing a disk in and seeing if it pops up as playing. I didn’t hook it up to sound speakers, but it didn’t appear to actually be reading the disc when I put one in. The tray opens and closes, the play, pause seem to work, as well as switching discs, but doesn’t seem to even try to read a disc (from what I could hear and see on the screen). I was able to put a disc in and press play, but the machine seemed unable to complete the action. Possibly this is due to an alignment issue, but regardless, I am listing this unit for parts. Sony CDP - C5F 5 CD changer. NO REMOTE CONTROL INCLUDED. Condition - serviced including a new belt for a tray and laser assembly clean up including the laser eye and traction bar for smooth movement. Old grease makes CDs skip, go in stuck mode. To remember - this is a 1987 year deck and it will play only original factory recorded CDs. Scratched CDs and home burned ones will not play. Performance - good with a good playback, all command buttons are working. Tested for a few days non stop. Does give a nice sound. Sold as working CD changer.
