Offered is a Sony CDP-200 CD Player, Made in Japan, unit SN 812666, production date Feb., 1984. Listed for parts / repair. Condition is for parts or repair. Estate sale find - smoke free home. Unit is super clean, no bends in the cabinet, LCD is scratch free, some light scratches on the CD door - see arrows in the images. Cord is nick free, no exposed wires. Nice straight top/bottom/sides. All lights work, all buttons are nice, cosmetically this is in very nice shape. Listed as is for parts / repair because it does not play all CDs so will need to be serviced. Please view the included video as this is what it does. It will only play some CDs. Of the 4 CDs in the image (cds are NOT included) it only played Diana and John, it did not like Marty or Zeppelin. Some CDs will play then start to sk - sk - sk - skip then stop, others will start to play and then just stop, some will do like the video - go in, think, then eject the disc. All of the cd’s used for testing were clean and scratch free - It does not like scratched or dirty CDs at all. The condition is such, if repaired, would make a nice collectors piece as this is the second consumer CD player from Sony, this came after the CDP-101. I dont think this came with a remote control, I dont see that typical window that an IR would use. In any case - there is no remote included. Also, the cables in the images are not included. Unit is 40 years old, if you can fix um then this one is a keeper! Id love to hang on to it but have to many items and zero space so will let it go to someone that can get it working and appreciate it. Sony CDP-200 CD Player Rare Early Model *Powers On, Drawer Does Not Open* Parts This CD Player did power on during testing, however the drawer does not open and it is not able to be tested further. Sony CDP-200 parts or repair / there are scratches and scuffs, power on, the CD receiving tray does not open (barely noticeable clicking and movement inside is audible), the buttons are pressed and the scoreboard is working properly **NO RETURN---------------------------------------------Check my seller page for other items

Rare Vintage 2nd Generation Sony CDP-200 Compact Disc Player. 1984!. This was a cool find. Not a finger print on the unit ( except mine) looks to be brand new.
