The manual is super useful for all the different settings that this cd changer has, one could be lost trying to use it without it! This item was taken on trade, and does have a faint smell of cigarette smoke, I imagine it from being in an 90s basement listening to all kinds of cd, and enjoying good times with great people! With that said it is in our storage unit, and being aired out, but I wanted to note that in the listing so there were no surprises.
