I have for sale a Sony CDP-101, First Commercially available CD Digital Player from the 1980’s. Show some slight wear and marks on the top plastic edge but overall it’s in very good condition. Rather than agree to a full postponement, Sony agreed to delay the launch of the format outside Japan by six months.[3] The Philips CD100 launched in November 1982,[4] although early Philips players contained some Sony components.[5]In line with the agreement, the system was launched worldwide in March 1983.[6]

This unit does power on and the tray opens, though it does not play CDs at this time. It is in great overall condition. It is being sold for parts or repair.
