I used this for years with my record player so it could play through my sonos equipment, I know it works and it can connect to receivers as well for Sonos app connection, this is the item that came out before the Sonos port. Should work with s1 for sure and maybe s2 but I don’t have the s2 app so not sure.

As they near failure, the device may have trouble booting up, or will reboot itself, or will lose network connectivity, or wont connect to your audio sources. I open these up and replace the power supply capacitors. I use better replacement parts than the original ones, and as a result the device will last for many years. Dont buy a used Sonos Connect device that has not had this repair done to it, as you are tempting fate!! These repaired devices are a much better investment!!!
