The capacitors dry out and literally change shape (bulge) and leak! As they near failure, the device may have trouble booting up, or will reboot itself, or will lose network connectivity, or wont connect to your audio sources. I open these up and replace the power supply capacitors. I use better replacement parts than the original ones, and as a result the device will last for many years. Dont buy a used Sonos Connect device that has not had this repair done to it, as you are tempting fate!! These repaired devices are a much better investment!!! Up for sale is a used Sonos Connect (Gen 1) S1 Digital Streamer Receiver. The unit has been tested and does work. Unit was connected to ethernet cord to set up unit.
