Every single one of them had either failed, or had components inside that were obviously going to fail. The problem is that the capacitors used in these units are cheap and they fail with time (and they do so much faster than other similar devices like your TV or stereo, partly because your Sonos devices are constantly powered up). The capacitors dry out and literally change shape (bulge) and leak! As they near failure, the device may have trouble booting up, or will reboot itself, or will lose network connectivity, or wont connect to your audio sources. I open these up and replace the power supply capacitors. I use better replacement parts than the original ones, and as a result the device will last for many years. Dont buy a used Sonos Connect device that has not had this repair done to it, as you are tempting fate!! These repaired devices are a much better investment!!!
