Have you ever wanted to get an SME tonearm but decided against it because you knew youd have to get it rewired anyway ? Turntable collectors know that some of the best rewiring work in North America is done by none other than SMETONEARMS in Canada. Here is your chance to get a very good condition SME Series II Improved tonearm with fixed headshell. The Fixed headshell means you get a continuous run from the headshell all the way down to the RCA cables with no joints connecting anything in between which means better and cleaner sound quality. I remember what this tonearm sounded like before the rewire. It was just ok and wondered whats the big deal about an SME tonearm anyway ? Then I got the rewire and got the answer I was looking for. I will even include a Shure V15 TypeV cartridge. To get the classic SME/Shure combo sound you just need to source your own TypeV stylus ( Jico is recommended). If you consider the cost of the tonearm + SMEtonearms rewire + the cartridge you know this is quite a deal. I am only selling it because I already have three other SME tonearms. This is a Shure branded SME 3009 Series 2 with a FIXED headshell. It works fine, but when I was removing a cartridge I snapped two of the leads. I soldered one back on, but it was too short. SME 3009 Series II Improved tonearm original boxed. This is a nice example complete with original box, templates and manuals. It has the fixed headshell armtube (for some reason the box says detachable but this is incorrect). The arm is in lovely cosmetic condition with gleaming arm tube and clean body. It works perfectly and sounds great. This is a particularly desirable example being original boxed and also being a very early example of the new improved 3009 series II design. This means that it has a metal knife edge bearing like early series II (non improved) arms had which is popular with many SME fans. We can ship worldwide with care.

Unusually instead of it being and SME headshell, the previous owner has fitted an ADC LMG-1 headshell which is glued in to position. This works well and the tube was play tested on an arm prior to removal for photographs.
