Original subwoofer for Celestion SL600 8 ohm 120 watt made in England. The Kobex cone has a crack from top to bottom caused by mishandling the speaker at one time. If you have use or the ability to have it repaired this may work for you. As-is. From a smoke and pet free environment.

Aerolam Celestion SL600 Speaker Cabinets with front grills bass and tweeter mount plates, crossovers, and inner foam. These were in pretty bad condition, over half of the corners were smashed or dented. These were working speakers but looked so bad I started to sell off the components rather than selling the complete speaker. I sold the tweeters and bass units before deciding to recondition, thinking these were not repairable, now I wish I hadnt sold them. My background is in metal fabrication, so I decided repair the corners. I carefully cut out the damaged outer aluminum skin material, then straightened the bent pieces, and reattached them using epoxy and polyurethane glue similar to what was used to put the boxes together at the factory. I used the least amount of glue possible not to change the performance of the box as engineered. I refinished the imperfections in the corners with high strength body filler and sanded them to a thin semi-smooth finish. I left a few minor, very tough to see imperfections in the boxes to keep the aged look. The outer coating from the factory was a fairly heavy splatter type finish in really bad shape, they used some type of rubberized coating (maybe to hide the imperfections and enhance sound transfer). The coating was flaking off and breaking down, so I removed it all. My goal was to retain the original factory look, which the coating was modeled and imperfect for sure. To start, I sprayed several coats of flat black enamel base. To finish, I sprayed two extremely light modeling coats of the exterior grade spar urethane satin finish. I didnt sand between coats to achieve the rough look of the original coating. The front SL600 ID plates were removed for refinishing as well the back jack stickers. The id plates are in good shape and include new double sided sticker tape. The back stickers, only one is in good shape, the other has been damaged. Youll need to glue these on if you choose. Included is the original tweeter seal dampening material. I provided some pictures of the damage and repair steps. Let me know if you need more pictures, I do have several. I have a pair of the mid/bass plate for Celestion SL6si’s speakers. They are in good condition. It comes with all original mounting screws. Screws may have some light rust on it but you can easily clean them.This plate is good for all SL speakers, SL6, SL6s, SL6si. It can also be used for SL600/SL600si and SL700/SL700SE. I have SL600si speakers and SL700SE speakers. So I know that these plates are the same model of those from 600 and 700. Just that Celestion adds some rubber gaskets on the plates for 600 or 700. That’s it! If you buy both, the second one has free shipping. Thanks.

Ein Paar Celestion SL 600 Lautsprecher, mit umfangreichem Service. Die Lautsprecher waren 2017 beim britischen Celestion Experten (carpwrangler) für eine gründliche innere Überarbeitung. Im Zuge dessen wurden die Lautsprecherchassis und Weichen geprüft, einige Kondensatoren wo nötig mit NOS Alcap ersetzt, sowie die Kupferkalotten der Hochtöner gereinigt. Weiterhin wurde der Dämmschaumstoff mit gut erhaltenem Originalschaumstoff ausgetauscht, die auch nicht mehr frische Innenverkabelung mit hochwertigem, korrektem Neotech Upocc 7N Reinkupferleiter PTFE ersetzt, das Gehäuse neu abgedichtet, etc.. Auf eine Neulackierung, welche angeboten wurde, hatte ich verzichtet, weil ich den optischen Originalzustand erhalten wollte; entsprechend hat das Äussere einige Macken und Putzspuren, ist aber generell sauber mit etwas Patina, s. Bilder. Ich verkaufe diese SL600 nur, weil ich noch ein weiteres Paar besitze, ebenfalls überholt, das ich in meiner Anlage benutze.Das angebotene Lautsprecherpaar ist daher seit dem Service nur selten gelaufen; die einwandfreie Funktion wurde geprüft.
