Im selling some my vintage cartridges after finally deciding on one. One of my favorites has been this Signet Mk112e. Im sure you know the story of Signet being Audio-Technicas top end line where they were given free reign and a large budget to make some of the best cartridges during the golden age of vinyl. The specs on this cartridge are outstanding as you can see, but a few aspects that add to this cartridges amazing sound are its beryllium cantilever whose low mass and high rigidity, along with the elliptical diamond stylus, make it possible to faithfully pull out all the information in the vinyls grooves. The integrated head shell allows for precise adjustments, keeps resonance low and aesthetically just looks sweet. Its in very good condition (7+), has been played 100-150 hours in a smoke free environment, clean records and lots of care. One note is that in the picture with all the papers for it there is a frequency response chart that is unfortunately for another cartridge and is not included. Pleased with confidence as I only sell what Id be happy buying. Up for sale is a beautiful Thorens TD 126 MK III turntable. This unit was from the estate of the original owner. When I got it it had not been used in over 20 years. It was always kept in a closed custom built stereo console with its own lid. Thus the dust cover was never installed and does not come with the unit. Please take note of this! This TD 126 MK III is the mahogany base version. The wood is absolutely pristine. Please look carefully at all of the pictures. The rest of the unit is in excellent condition. There is some discoloration on the metal top of the unit but compared to most of these units it is in very nice condition. Please look carefully at all of the pictures and judge the condition for yourself. The unit has the original Thorens tonearm with a Signet Model 100 cartridge installed. Signet was the high end line of Audio Technica and this cartridge was designed to track at 1.5-2.5 grams. It has the original elliptical stylus on it. The cantilever is slightly bent but the cartridge has been tested and sounds good with both channels sounding as they should. Of course, the buyer will probably want to install their favorite cartridge in this professional grade turntable. When I received the unit I did a complete service on it. This included cleaning and sanitizing all parts, lubricating the motor and bearings, cleaning all contacts with dioxit, checking and cleaning the belts with rubber renew (the belts are in good condition), and checking all of the functions of the unit. The platter needed very slight lifting as it was just barely touching the metal top. Everything works perfectly. Speeds are steady and the speed control works. Quing works as does the auto-lift, auto-stop functions. I currently have this unit set up in may work room and have listened to over a dozen LPs on it with great results. The sale includes the turntable, cartridge and stylus, copy of the manual, the original box and packing material. The original box will be placed inside a larger double walled box to protect the original box. The TD 126 MK III was top-of-the-line Thorens turntable when it came out and Thorens has always been highly respected for its quality and durability. They are highly sought after and command top prices. This is a wonderful example in exceptional condition. It is priced far below what others are asking. SIGNET MK110Emc MOVING COIL PHONO CARTRIDGE RARE USER REPLACEABLE STYLUS COILS MEASURE GOOD IN BOTH CHANNELS REQUIRES NEW STYLUS This listing is for a vintage Signet MC110Emc moving coil phono cartridge. This model is unique among moving coil designs as it incorporates a user replaceable stylus. I have been involved in turntable set up and use for 50 years. I have a plethora of vintage phono cartridges that I will be posting on eBay. I describe the stylus as needing replacement as I do not have a microscope to check. I am assuming it is worn not usable and will need replacing. The coils measure good at 11.8 ohms for left channel and 11.7 ohms on right channel multimeter set at 200 range. Cosmetically the body is good, shows some wear for the age, some minor signs of previous mounting hardware, a small vertical crack on the outside mounting hole ear exactly in the middle, not split or open, no broken pieces, absolutely still mountable, connecting pins very good, Stylus appears intact on cantilever end, black appearance with vinyl deposits, hours of use unknown, suspension good. Stylus should be replaced or re-tipped by professional service for optimum performance.
