A great moving coil cartridge with a beryllium cantilever and a .2 x .8 hyperelliptical diamond from the 1980s. This is the same cartridge as the MK111e but mounted in its own dedicated headshell. Comes with the matching step-up transformer designed for this particular cartridge model. Use of the transformer allows the user to guarantee correct amplification of the signal for use into a regular 47k-Ohms phono preamp input (so-called MM type). I bought this on eBay from the original owner who reported he used it for less than 10 hours before putting it back in the box and storing it. Ive put another 10-15 hours on it in the six years Ive had it, so it is in near-new condition for an audio time-capsule of 40+ years. Last time I had it installed it worked great and sounded excellent. I am only selling now because I have too many cartridges and would like to send this to someone who will get many good years of listening from it. This Signet Mk112-E moving coil cartridge has been well taken care of, handled carefully and not played extensively. I mostly played my Nakamichi 600II cassette deck in the 1980s and 90s. This cartridge was used on a Technics SL-1300 turntable. I cleaned each album thoroughly with care to protect the album as well as the cartridge to avoid damaging the stylus. Also included is the essential Signet MK10T transformer which is needed because of the low output voltage of the dual moving coil cartridge. It needs amplification. Included is the original cartridge cleaning brush and the original manual. I am also selling my Technics SL-1300 Turntable on Ebay on a different listing that this cartridge was used on. Im sure you know the story of Signet being Audio-Technicas top end line where they were given free reign and a large budget to make some of the best cartridges during the golden age of vinyl. The specs on this cartridge are outstanding as you can see, but a few aspects that add to this cartridges amazing sound are its beryllium cantilever whose low mass and high rigidity, along with the elliptical diamond stylus, make it possible to faithfully pull out all the information in the vinyls grooves. The integrated head shell allows for precise adjustments, keeps resonance low and aesthetically just looks sweet. Its in very good condition (7+), has been played 100-150 hours in a smoke free environment, clean records and lots of care. One note is that in the picture with all the papers for it there is a frequency response chart that is unfortunately for another cartridge and is not included.
