Here is one that you dont see often especially in this condition. An American made by Shure rebadged Realistic R700E. The Realistic version of the the venerable M75ED Type II. Beautiful powder blue and gold motif with very nice lettering and a sharp gold Realistic logo. A 5.0mV generator putting out a strong multimeter tested 632/637 ohms per channel with outstanding channel separation and great bass, mids and highs. Designed to track at 3/4-1.5 grams. The bonus is the original Shure ED T2 0.2x0.7 elliptical stylus in like new condition. Sharp as a tack and tested for 15 minutes at 1.25 grams and it is completely plug and play on a properly balanced tonearm.I have mounted and aligned it on a very nice quality New Ebony wood Yamamoto repro style headshell with crystal litz lead wires. This is a Realistic/Shure RXT4 cartridge. The Realistic version of the classic Shure Era IV M97. At the time it was top of the line stuff for Shure. They had a habit of having their glued on hood covers come off like this one. So this is the body only. No cover hood and you can see the glue residue remnants. It does not diminish the fact that this multimeter tests at a whopping 1558/1548 ohms a channel and is a hell of a cartridge. I own two and they are among my favorite Shures ever made. This is strictly for the person that knows what to do with restoration. Not like all our many other items that are completely plug and play. With me so far? Because if youre not, you arent reading.
