Connectic is by Monster cables, except for the Quads, which are connected to the amplifier by Leedh cables. My listening room is almost perfect with a height of 6.5 m in inverse V (see pictures 16 and 17), and thus with a huge volume. The Quads ESL 63 Pro are perfectly placed at 1.2 m of the back and lateralwalls in stone (0.7 m thick) and distant of 4.5 m. The insulation of the walls on the back of the Quads has been rigidified to avoid any parasite vibration as the Quads function in doublet. There is a specific electric line for the stereo directly from the electric counter. You may notice 1) that the amplifier at the bottom of my rack is sufficiently far away of the other components to avoid any radiation of the monstrous output transformers of the McIntosh amplifier 7270, and 2) that the Quads are on home-made metallic stands. They are filled with sand with cork supports on both the metallic plate bottom of the Quads and on the wooden floor. In my personal opinion the Quad stands are not high enough to get a perfect stereo image for a seated listener. I have plenty of test CDs including the Chesky volumes 1 to 3, plenty of friends who are musicians, and I regularly assist to live concerts of mostly Baroque music, blues and jazz...
