SCHIIT MANI PHONO PREAMP Excellent condition, fully functionalSounds greatIncludes original 16V AC power transformer This is a really nice budget standalone RIAA equalizer-preamplifier. It has a nice, rich sound compared to most inexpensive phono preamps. Gain for moving magnet (MM) and high output moving coil (HOMC) cartridges is switchable between 30, 42, or 48 decibels. The Mani also has a high gain setting (59dB) for use with low output moving coil (MC) cartridges. Input load resistance can be switched between 47k ohms for MM and HOMC cartridges or 47 ohms for MC cartridges. The RIAA equalization is completely passive, not in the feedback loop. Audiophiles generally concur that passive RIAA EQ sounds more relaxed and musical. When the Mani came out, writers for Stereophile, Analog Planet and other audio-oriented publications were quick to praise its sound. I added a guide to the bottom panel that shows what the switches do. Its not visible when the preamp is in use but it comes in handy if/when you switch between cartridges. This one is going for half its original price, complete with power supply and ready to go. As always, the item will be carefully packed with high quality materials for protecting the item in shipment. --
