I’m the 2nd owner of this arm however it has been well cared for. I’m moving away from vinyl due to health issues which make it difficult to constantly get up and flip/change records during listening sessions. The arm is in excellent condition and the bearings are free of any slop. Also included are two Thomas Schick Graphite Headshells. One headshell was included when I bought this and the other one I bought new. The one that was included has shorter clips as shown in the photo. I’m unsure if the previous owner trimmed these but they work just fine as is. One 180g counter weight is included which worked perfectly for my Ortofon SPU-G and Miyajima cartridges. There’s an optional 2nd weight that Schick offers but I have no information about it. There was no Antiskate Bracket when I received the arm and I never bothered to order one. My research shows the Schick anti-skate is a bear to set up correctly and that many owners of this arm choose to leave it off, including the late Art Dudley who owned and greatly enjoyed a Schick 12” until his passing. The following is from his experience with the arm: Also, because the need for a certain amount of headshell offset decreases as the effective length increases—compare the Schicks 17.11° angle with the +22° average of conventionally sized arms—the dreaded skating force also diminishes. For the owner of a 12 arm, it can be argued that the fiddly, fussy, resonant, kludged-together, compromise-at-best antiskating mechanism can finally be dispensed with altogether. Without having to ask for them, I can hear the Amens already. The 1st photo shows the actual arm in this listing mounted on my plinth. The Ortofon cartridge shown in the photo is not included, nor is the plinth. This arm is meant for SME/SPU-G Cartridges. Please do a search if you’re unsure of cartridge types. Also please be sure that this arm will fit your table and that your cartridge’s compliance will be a match. It’s your responsibility to do your homework as I’m not accepting returns. This arm sells new for $1995 minus any headshell. The Graphite headshells are $295 each. My minimum bid is less than half the cost of new and represents an excellent value for the savvy audiophile. A set of small metric allen wrenches will be required for tightening the collar and armrest. This will ship double boxed and fully insured. Thanks for your interest.
