Here is a Sanyo RD-303 Vintage Cassette Deck. I have managed to bring this back to life with new belts and a good clean of the mechanism etc, and it does fully function with ff,rw,playback, record etc. Its not bad, but not perfect, i think this is down to belts, they felt tight when i was fitting them, so may improve with a little use, i might be kidding myself but i think it does sound better already, questionable. The overall speed is good and accurate i think, but sounds like it has a little flutter, sometimes i hear it, sometimes i dont, its track dependent i think, but it could settle down further and be perfectly fine. The other small issue i have is a hum present in between tracks. This may be typical of this deck, but im suspecting not, or maybe im being overly crytical? I recorded and played the test tracks in the video sample on this deck, and it sounds good and bright, plenty of range in the HB heads for sure, but i suspect the hum is either my very aged and overused cheap tape, or, some sort of grounding issue inside. Its not always there, and i cannot hear it at all personally underneath the music audio, its a either a little annoyance, or my paranoia! Ive tried to highlight this by video recording the end of one track and the beginning of the next, the gap in between is where i hear the hum, personally! There are some minor marks to the top brushed aluminium casing, which i have tried to show but i dont think the photos have really picked it up, and what appears to be a splash of something aggressive on the counter display has removed some of the finish. Other than that this is still a lovely looking deck, big VU meters are illuminated and very handsome! Either way, because i dont think its perfect, i have covered my backside by listing it as a repairable item, good for spares, parts or not working as ebay categorise such things. Its clearly better than that in reality, it is usable as it is, and i can fully demonstrate that in person, or in more videos if you wish, but this way i do not get unwanted returns and complaints etc So price is reduced accordingly, feel free to try me with an offer??? This can be fully demonstrated if collected from me in Nottingham (O7875749472) to arrange, alternatively i can package and dispatch for the quoted amount. Feel free to message or contact to discuss and remaining queries and questions, and please see my many other listings in case you wish to add more hifi etc to a system or bundle. Thanks for looking, good luck and happy shopping... PS - only what is described in the advert text is included in this sale, nothing else you may see in the background of the pictures is included, although it may be for sale separately.
