We have not attempted to unscrew the speakers from the device as they are mounted at a side angle and we did not want to risk causing anymore harm to the system. The system is still fully functional, but the speakers cannot be repositioned unless these screws are removed, which would then leave exposed holes on the speakers and the tuner unit as we assume the screws go into the tuner and mount into the speakers to keep the entire assembly together. Cosmetically speaking, item is in great, gently used condition. The only cosmetic flaw is a chip in the plastic that is visible on the corner of the right speaker. The unit has been tested, all functions work EXCEPT for the tape deck. Cassettes will rewind and fast forward but will not play. When a tape is not inserted, the capstan that moves the tape along will rotate but the sprockets do not. Probably needs a new belt/motors for the sprockets but I do not have the knowledge to fix this issue. Message me with any questions! ONE OF THESE BRACKETS IS MISSING (since the bracket is plastic and one is still there, you should be able to get one 3D printed, if you can’t find an original). That said, the unit appears to be fully operational. There is some static in the pots/sliders, as you would expect from such an old unit (which had probably sat for a while), but, not a lot. Tapes play back cleanly, radio comes in clear as a bell, speakers work great. It’s a beautiful unit, extremely cool.
