Overview The filter circuit consists of an emitter follower circuit with two PNP-NPN low-noise transistors in all stages.In particular, the buffer amplifier in the input stage consists of four L/R circuits and is designed to take advantage of the original performance of the buffer amplifier, resulting in a high signal-to-noise ratio and low distortion.In addition, the ±2 power supply system allows the input/output circuits of each frequency selector stage to be at 0 V potential, so there is no click noise no matter which frequency selector is switched during use. The CD-10 supports up to a 4-way system to accommodate the element of using a wider bandwidth by adding a super tweeter or subwoofer to the 3-way system. In addition, six different frequency bandwidths can be divided by the mode selector on the back panel, from 2-way to 4-way, depending on the combination of the four divided bandwidths: low, mid-low, mid-high, and high. The crossover frequency can be selected from 60Hz to 600Hz for the low-mid range, from 300Hz to 3kHz for the low-mid to high range, and from 1.5kHz to 15kHz for the high-mid to high range.Furthermore, the crossover frequencies on the low and high frequency side of each divided band can be changed independently, allowing the overlap portion to be adjusted freely in addition to the usual -3dB crossover point. There are two cutoff slopes, sharp 18dB/oct and 12dB/oct, which can be switched at both ends of the low and high frequency side of each band to be crossed. The -3dB point of each cutoff slope is exactly the same, so that a characteristic cutoff frequency can be obtained under any conditions.The switch is located on the front panel, just like the frequency selector, so that the user can select the desired frequency while listening to the actual sound. The level of each band can be adjusted independently. The low frequency range is located on the back panel, and the mid-low, mid-high, and high frequency ranges are located on the front panel, making it possible to accommodate all differences in cone and horn type units, as well as differences in efficiency. Low frequency compensation is possible with the low booster.The knob is located on the rear panel and can compensate from 0 to 8 dB at 20 Hz in 10 steps. Furthermore, the turnover frequency can be switched between 60Hz and 100Hz to improve the sense of volume in the ultra-low frequency range, which tends to be lacking. SANSUI SS-20 2-Way Stereo Over-Ear Headphones. Sansui SS-20 Another two way design. Sansui made a lot ofnice stuff back in the late 70s - early 80s and even this low end headphone is very nice sounding considering the time period. Very different sounding than the Sixty; theyrealmost opposites despite sharing the same basic drive principle. The SS-20 is far faster and has more treble, and is actually a very detailed sounding headphone whereas the Sixty was average at best in that area.While a bit middy, they have good bass and impact as well as some sparkle up top. The imaging is far more precise than the Sixty, while the soundstage sounds just a little closed in.There is a slight resonance in the midrange but I find that it disappears after a bit of listening, much unlike the Audatron (which seemed to get worse and worse the more I used it). Very nice sounding headphones that can match andeven beat many modern cans. It is a smaller version of CD-10 crossover. I purchased this a long time ago for a build that never happened and now that I am moving I decided to just sell it along with some of my other stereo project equipment. It has been sitting on my shelf in the basement for years. It is in excellent condition, however I have no way of testing it currently so I am selling it as is. It could probably use a servicing to get it up to spec again so I am pricing it accordingly. Whoever gets this is getting quite the deal. These Sansui Headphones are very functional and sound good. Overall cosmetic condition is good however they are missing the nameplate on each earpiece. The overhead band and the cups that fit over the ear are in good shape. The ear pieces are a bit large and heavy for the ear as compared to a set of pioneer headphones I have. They do have individual cup volume adjustments Reason for selling- trying to de-clutter and I’ve decided to stick with the Pioneer ones. Thanks for looking.
