I think rotating the control cleans the contact a bit. Vinyl trim on wood side panel has a peeling section on front, and is missing a small section on rear (see photos). SAE Power Amplifier P10 This is selling AS IS, for parts or not working. I cannot test it. I believe the plug on it is maybe european?? I do not know if it works or not unfortunately.
