PANASONIC 1980s BOOMBOX RX-C39L with Line In - Radio is OK Cassette Not Working This is a superb looking PANASONIC BOOMBOX from the early 1980s - Made in Japan - Model No. RX-C39L. The Tape is not working. Radio is working and sounding great - it has SW / LW / MW / FM wavebands. This model has a Three Band Graphic Equaliser and also has a Line In function that I think should allow you to plug in any sound source such as a phone / mp3 player etc. using the phono inputs on the rear of the unit. This model also has detachable speakers with extension wires - the speakers can be detached using the buttons on each side. To give an idcea os size the Boombox measures approx. 54cm wide x 20cm tall x 15cm deep. I tried the radio and it is working and sounding great - pulling in lots of stations on all the wavebands - FM sounding great and coming in on stereo. The Cassette Player is not working - it winds the tape RW and FF but when I pressed play with a tape in it turned but the mechanism made a clonking sound - might be the auto stop - I couldnt hear any sound from the tape. So please be aware the tape in not functioning - for this reason it is being offered for possible repair. Cosmetically it looks good for its age - the aerial is lovely and straight. It is quite old so has signs of use and wear commensurate with age. Please see photographs for details.

PANASONIC RX-C39L RETRO BOOMBOX. Very cool and smart looking. Radio works fine. Speakers are detachable and both work fine. Ariel has a slight bend in it but is complete and opens fine. Cassette deck does not turn and makes a dull tone when play is pressed. I believe it will be an issue with the belt as is common with these. Easy to replace for anyone with knowledge. Has some marks here and there due to age but nothing bad and no actual damage. There is some rust on battery terminals and these have not been tested as had no large batteries at hand. Works fine with cable. Sold as seen due to above issues with no returns accepted due to tape deck issue etc.
