The deck is in good outer condition with some marks and small scratches from use as you can see to the pictures (Please look carefully the photos), fully serviced 2 years before by my technician with new bets, pinch rollers, brand new head and lubrication . This is one of the best 2 head cassette decks with outstanding performance, hard to beat specs (even by many 3 head decks!!) and dbx. In good condition. **It’s only flaw is the three chrome sliders along the bottom that control timer, balance and input level are missing BUT can be easily adjusted with your finger(nail). All features work. There is one of the 4 very thin feet pads missing, but I can’t tell any real difference- seems to sit level with 3 of the 4. The main features of the Technics RS-B50 are: 2 heads, mechanical 3 digit tape counter, tape type selection and capable of handling normal, chrome and metal tapes with automatic equalization selection, belt driven single-capstan transport. Typical front loading cassette deck with the cassette compartiment located on the left side of the deck. Tape eject is operated mechanically and the cassette needs to be placed with the side to be played facing forward in the cassette well. Level meters used on the RS-B50 are generic digital peak reading meters with multi-color indication to provide visual saturation level of tape. Full-logic transport controls used on the RS-B50 let it respond to the slightest finger contact for fast and effortless transport function selection. I’ve tested recording with mic input and it records well. I/O level meters work well also.
