BOSE Companion 3 Speaker Original Volume Control Pod C3 9-Pin Round Interface I cleaned up the black ring after taking pictures, so if you are willing to purchase it based on the pictures, you should be happy with what you actually receive. The rubber bottom is what it is. Cannibalized off of a system that I had been using without problems until eventually it lost one channel. I confirmed that the defect was in the main speaker/amplifier unit and not this volume control pod by using an audio tester (high impedance earphone and series capacitor) to verify that only one channel was making it to the pins on the main unit feeding the input to this control pod. If this does not make sense, or it does but you are still wary, then this may not be for you. From my standpoint, the ideal customer is someone who either misplaced their volume control pod or had theirs chewed up by their dog, and not someone who only gets sound out of one speaker and is shot gunning by replacing the volume control pod. Either way though, I am guaranteeing that you will be satisfied, and if it doesnt work for you, no matter the reason, just return the unit I sent you and I will refund you the amount you paid and the shipping cost both ways.
