Rotel RA-840BX2 - audiophiler Vollverstärker der 1980er Jahre - guter Zustand! Der von Stan Curtis designte Rotel RA-840 kam bereits 1982 auf den Markt und wurde über Jahre hinweg regelmäßig verbessert & den Anforderungen des Marktes angepasst. Hier die vierte Version, der 840BX2 aus dem Jahr 1987. Weggefallen war hier schon lang alles, was nicht mehr notwendig erschien - Loudness, Klangregelung und die Pegelanzeige des Ur-Modells. Erweitert wurde der 840er dagegen ab der „B“-Version um ein kanalgetrenntes Netzteil mit zwei Trafos und einem schaltbaren Eingang für Moving Coil-Tonabnehmer. Der BX2 ist dennoch hinreichend ausgestattet: fünf Eingänge - Phono (MM/MC), CD, Tuner & zwei komplette Tapeschleifen. Es ist nur ein Lautsprecherpaar anschließbar, entweder direkt oder mit Abschaltung bei Nutzung des Kopfhörerausgangs. Monoschalter und ein kanalgetrennter Lautstärkeregler. 2 x 50 Watt Sinusleistung an 8 Ohm (DIN), Phono MC mit 500 Ohm Eingangswiderstand. Abmessungen: 43 x 6,6 x 31,9 cm. Gewicht 7,7 kg. Das Gerät funktioniert zuverlässig und klingt prima. Optisch gut erhalten, wenn auch mit Gebrauchsspuren. Leider hat der Lautstärkeregler mit den Jahren seine schwarze Färbung verloren, typisches Problem bei den Rotels. Der Verstärker war zu Beginn dieses Jahres bei einem Fachmann für Studiotechnik zum Austausch der Netzteil-Elkos und einiger weiterer Kondensatoren, das Phonoboard ist original belassen. Feststellbar ist trotz der Überholung leider ein minimales Brummen - auf dem rechten Kanal bei Phono MC - im Betrieb nicht wahrnehmbar. Weitere geprüfte und überholte Geräte in parallelen Angeboten. Die Endstufe funktioniert einwandfrei, der Gehäusedeckel sowie die Front wurden grau pulverbeschichtet, die Abschlüsse vorne links und rechts sind aus Wurzelholz gefertigt.
