Laser did receive the optic cleaning and found in good shape.All necessary maintenance was done, including cleaning and re greasing of the gears and sliders.Unit have normal signs of use with few small nicks and some top cower rubbing marks. Player was tested with industry standard Phillips SBC playability test CD (SBC 444 A) (not included for sale) and pass through all test tracks with no skipping or any audible distortion in sound, so laser and electronics can be considered in good shape. I found mention that it plays Redbook CDs as well.When an HDCD disc is played an HDCD LED indicator illuminates. An Awesome CD Player at a very reasonable price. It will be very carefully packed as I always do, for safe arrival to the buyer. Fully Serviced less than 6 months ago. Installed >> New Loading Belt, New Optical Pickup. New Ribbon Cable (for the laser). It has worked and played very well for me in all respects since then. Sounds fantastic. Since downsizing my home I just dont have adequate space in my TV cabinet for this one ....and since I own several much smaller CD and DVD players and have no need for exotic Balanced XLR audio outputs. I am including the original KSS-213 Optical Pickup (very likely it is still good). It was removed and replacedwith a brand new pickup...before the ribbon cable was discovered as BAD and was replaced with a new one. Included is a NEW spare ribbon cable (for the laser). SORRY --- No Remote with this --- But I do see them available online recently (sometimes an original, more often some after-market types). The player itself has several buttons for the most used functions on its faceplate.
