Rotel RB-991 Stereo power amplifier in Excellent to Immaculate condition. Looks almost like a new/ Demo unit. I have serviced many of these and the RB-1080 / RB-1580s and I can tell you looking at the boards and the schematics that all these models have Identical amplification circuits. They are essentially the same amplifiers, with minor changes cosmetically or in some cases having an extra pair of speaker posts. But in terms of sonics and amplification they are ALL identical. You can see the schematics to see for yourself. Sonically this model has higher quality input coupling capacitors. It Uses the much acclaimed Rubycon Black gates. The 1080/1580 use generic parts, making this one slight better. Another thing is better about this model vs the 1080/1580 is that under the 1000uF capacitors, they do not use that dreaded corrosive glue, that kills the 1080/1580 inexplicably. So this will last longer than both of them. Lastly this unit is all original, with original matched outputs, its never been repaired or butchered, all OEM. Great unit. This unit puts out 200 watts into both channels and close to 400watts into 4 ohms. (running 1 channel it put over 400w into 4 ohms), and into 8 ohms it was over 245 watts into 8 ohms using a 30Hz test tone. The condition both inside and out are in excellent shape, see the photos and judge for yourself. The amplifier is fully tested into full power, DC offset is good and I adjusted the bias as well. In the end I re-torqued all 24 screws that hold the outputs and drivers, these loosen over time, and needed a slight twist, this unit is good for another decade or two. The unit comes with an owners manual.
