This pair of Rogers LS5/9 monitor loudspeakers have killer sound. They’ve been at this multimillion dollar camp since their purchase and what I believe was 1993. Rarely played but excellent sound quality “massive”. One speaker has several added screws to its cabinet. I don’t know why, there’s no evidence of any problem. The speakers have rarely seen the light of day, so the cabinets are in good shape. These are extremely hard to find unless you want to be in the $5k-$7k range for new. They have no dust covers but yet were undercover for all these years. Hard to price but evidence points to them being well worth what I’m asking. $1,400 or best offer. Shipping may seem expensive but they’ll be shipped separately for optimum damage free delivery and they’re heavy at 27 pounds each.

All drivers are original and in excellent condition. I opened one speaker and show the internal parts. As shown in some posted pictures, they are all original. Date of production is January 9, 1980, as shown on the cabinet. I have many other pictures if you are interested. I was not able to open the other speaker and I didnt want to force open it. These two are matched pair (A and B). As shown one of the speaker biding posts got some repair. I guarantee these are genuine, vintage Rogers. Serial numbers are SO 109xxA and 109xxB. I covered the last two digits in the serial numbers on pictures (not on the speakers). The speakers work great, produce wonderful music as one expects. Physical condition of the cabinets is excellent for the age. One of the woofers has a small blemish on the surround (see picture). I inspected and determined there is no through hole. So, it does not affect the performance. Grills are great; no issues. I believe the original foam surrounding tweeters have deteriorated and the ones here are replacement. Thats my guess though. Original Rogers LS3/5A Speakers purchased from estate of the original owner. All drivers and crossover parts are original and they sound amazing with both the tube and solid state amplifiers I have powered them with. From my understanding the the gold badge was reservered for special woods used in the cabinets, and I believe these are teak. The badges, however are a bit damaged but replacements can be found online. Matching serial numbers S03051A + S03051B and stamp inside the cabinet that date these from November 1977. The grilles are included (the frames need to be refurbished as they are fading and fine dust is falling off). ROGERS LS5/9 VINTAGE SPEAKERS MATCHED Originally black ash but quite badly scratched, I have re-veneered these in book-matched oak. The top and right front edges of one speaker’s veneer is slightly less flush compared to the rest but this is only noticeable when looking directly down or side on, and does not detract from the overall appearance, which is very good. The drivers are all in excellent condition, as are the grills. PLEASE NOTE Pictured stands are NOT included in this auction Although I do not have the original packaging, these will be shipped in a custom made box with strong (3 cm wide) foam inserts to protect the corners and sides. For sale is a pair of vintage, one of the best sounding Rogers LS3/5A BBC Monitor Speakers, 15-Ohm, Early Black-Badge, Genuine, Matched A/B Pair These are early black-badge, right after the famed gold-badge. All drivers are original and in excellent condition. I opened one speaker and show the internal parts. As shown in some posted pictures, they are all original. Date of production is January 9, 1980, as shown on the cabinet. I have many other pictures if you are interested. I was not able to open the other speaker and I didnt want to force open it. These two are matched pair (A and B). As shown one of the speaker biding posts got some repair. I guarantee these are genuine, vintage Rogers. Serial numbers are SO 109xxA and 109xxB. I covered the last two digits in the serial numbers on pictures (not on the speakers). The speakers work great, produce wonderful music as one expects. Physical condition of the cabinets is excellent for the age. One of the woofers has a small blemish on the surround (see picture). I inspected and determined there is no through hole. So, it does not affect the performance. Grills are great; no issues. I believe the original foam surrounding tweeters have deteriorated and the ones here are replacement. Thats my guess though. I have another pair of these Rogers LS3/5A (a bit later but still the same black badge). Ill pack well and ship worldwide. Lovely clean speakers. Very fine well looked after. I cant think there would be a more up together example. I cant see any marks other than on the base where some blu tak was put in the corner to help stick them to the stands as pictured. If you do see a sign of use then please respect that they are not brand new. Putting them in the used category covers me against anyone finding a mark and asking for money back. As with all used things, if you need a 100% guarantee that you wont find a single mark then you have the option to find some that have never been opened. I have been asked to show the insides of these speakers I can be able to make them £1495 if you collect them and pay old fashioned money on collection or if you wish to arrange your own courier and take responsibility yourself.
