RME ADI-2 DAC FS audiophile DAC. Extremely configurable and programable with 5-band EQ, DSP, crossfeed, tone controls, loudness, SteadyClock FS, etc.; includes preamp and headphone amp with volume control. Sounds very clear, crisp, and natural. Note that this is the version with the AKM4493 chip (see the B suffix of the serial number in the pictures of the back). Analog Outputs: balanced xlr and unbalanced rca, low-noise iem output, high-pwer headphone output (you can use both outputs at the same time: for example, I had the balanced outputs connected to my power amp and a headphone output connected to my active subwoofer)Digital Inputs: USB, SPIDF coaxial and optical Sample Rates: up to 768Hz and DSD 256 Included: manual, remote control, custom power cable to linear power supply, and original switching power supply. Since it sounded better with a linear power supply, I had a custom power cable made by Pine Tree Audio. The DAC uses a special DC power input plug that locks into the device. The unit is unmarked and comes with a USB 2.0 cable, headphone jack, IEM jack, and offers RCA & XLR outputs. Thats just styrofoam packing material you see in the photos. I saved all the original packing materials and boxes. I guess I knew that I would never get around to using it. I am a vinyl guy at heart. They retail for $1,299.00 (new).
