Up for sale is one Denon AU-103 Step Up Transformer in very good to excellent condition. It has some slight external wear as expected for a vintage transformer but is in other wise really good shape as seen in the photos. There is a small dent on the left side of the unit and a minor scratch across the face plate. All of the wear and markings are how I received it from Japan within the last year. The AU-103 is essentially a block of aluminum with large holes drilled out for the transformers. To say it is built like a tank is an understatement. And because the transformers are embedded in this aluminum block, superior shielding is achieved. This is one of the quietest phono transformers I have ever used. I used this SUT with Denon DL-103, 103R, and 301MkII carts as well as an Audio Technica AT-OC9XML. It is absolutely phenomenal with all of those carts. There is only a single ratio of 1:10 which produces 20dB of gain. Load resistance: 47k? Cartridge impedance: 3 - 40?
