Ive had this CD player for about 30 years, purchased from its original owner.This player hails from around 1985 - 86 and is in almost mint condition.Its a slightly unusual player in that it works as a 14 bit machine with 4 times oversampling.The build quality of this CD player shows its heritage with Studer and professional studios.I had laid this CD player up as it was beginning to play up a bit, until I found an electronics engineer who was able to service the Revox. He told me that virtually every capacitor was well out of spec when he examined the player...yet it was still able to play - he was very impressed with the sturdy nature of the player. Once serviced (about 18 months ago) at a cost of £228, it now plays nicely with an older analogue type of sound.The controls are a bit clunky and the logic can be a bit slow, but from memory it was always like that.The CD disc sometimes lifts when the drawer opens...but again I think its always done this in my ownership.The player supports remote control, but Ive never had a remote controller.The Revox power socket has been replaced with a standard IEC socket, however this is a reversible mod and I still have the Revox socket and mains lead if originality is essential.There is the original Revox manual with the CD player too.Due to the delicate nature of such a venerable machine (plus Id hate it to get damaged after all these years) this will need to be collected (from Manchester - which is preferable so you can see and hear the Revox in action) or meet up.These machines seem to go for silly money (even as spares).Please check out the photos attached for your enjoyment.
