The HT/1003 is the entry-level model, which uses a front-firing 10-inch driver and includes 300W of digital amplification,bass down to 24Hz (-6db).However REL hasnt gone for a completely basic appearance, and the top surface has been beautifully finished using five coats of hand rubbed lacquer. In the middle of this glossy blacktop surface, is the companys name REL Acoustics Ltd. At the front, there is a removable black cloth grille, that uses physical connectors rather than magnets. The HT/1003 measures 318 x 347 x 351mm (WxHxD) and weighs in at 12.7kg, so unlike other subs Ive reviewed recently, it should reasonably easy to move and install.The connections and controls are located at the rear, and REL has sensibly kept things to a minimum. So in terms of the connections, you get a dual purpose low-level stereo RCA or LFE RCA input, and a daisy chain low-level stereo RCA or LFE RCA output. The controls are fully manual and are composed of a dial for the level, another for the crossover, and a switch for the phase. The HT/1003 doesnt come with any kind of remote control.Theres a kettle style connector for the power cable, and an on/off switch. Theres also an auto standby feature, which turns the sub on when it receives a signal. In a nice touch, the writing that identifies each control and connection is written normally and upside down, making it easier to read when peering over the back of the sub in the dark. The REL HT/1003 uses a 10-inch (250mm) CarbonGlas long-throw driver that is both lightweight and extremely rigid. There is stiff carbon fibre over 60% of the driven surface, backed by lightweight glasfibre and high-quality natural butyl surrounds that can remain soft and pliable for decades. Theres also an inverted carbon fibre dust cap and a steel chassis. REL claim low-frequency extension of -6dB at 24Hz. To accomplish the goal of delivering deep bass from a compact cabinet, REL chose their NextGen5 Class D amplifier with a claimed output of 300W. This frees up interior space whilst also running cool, so theres more cabinet volume and that translates into deeper bass despite the HT/1003s modest footprint. The built-in amplification means there is always sufficient power for the driver, which ensures a high output, delivered via a long running and reliable design. REL have designed a specific inverse filter in the HT/1003’s input to permit the CarbonGlas driver to extend much deeper than more conventional designs. The HT/1003 also supports a wireless connection, thanks to RELs HT-Air purpose-built kit and is designed to deliver zero compression and maximum dynamics. HT-Air was developed to leave old fashioned Bluetooth-based systems in the dust, by delivering a latency in the 16-20 millisecond range. This permits owners to place their sub wherever it works best for them without having to resort to unsightly cables being strewn across their room.HT-air kit not included.

Der HT/1003 - Version 1 - besitzt einen 10 = 25 cm großen Tieftöner mit einer extrem steifen Membran aus Carbon-Glasfaser mit Wabenstruktur (siehe Bild 1), der in einem geschlossenen Gehäuse (kein Bassreflex) von kompakten 318 x 347 x 351 mm eingebaut ist. Die geschlossene Bauweise wirkt Problemen mit Raumresonanzen bei der Aufstellung entgegen und unterstützt die Präzision der Basswiedergabe. Gleichwohl kommt der HT/1003 bis weit in den Basskeller. Der -6 dB Punkt liegt bei 24 Hz. Mit einer Leistung von 300 Watt RMS des eingebauten Class D - Verstärkers ist der HT/1003 auch leistungsmäßig allen Anforderungen gewachsen. Das von mir angebotene Exemplar habe ich 2020 neu gekauft und zusammen mit zwei in einer anderen Aktion angebotenen Sonus Faber Boxen für die gelegentliche Wiedergabe klassischer Musik genutzt. Das Gerät ist also gebraucht, aber in einem technisch und optisch erstklassigen Zustand. Da ich es gebraucht von privat verkaufe, schließe ich eine über den Verkaufszeitpunkt hinausgehende Gewährleistung aus. Nachdem ich vor einiger Zeit mit dem Versand eines Subwoofers katastrophale Erfahrungen gemacht habe (das Gerät kam beim Käufer mit einer um 2 cm eingedrückten Ecke an, weil es offenbar aus größerer Höhe fallen gelassen worden war und auch die wirklich sorgfältige Verpackung mit doppelter Kartonage und Styropor den Schaden nicht hatte verhindern können, die Post sich aber mit der falschen Behauptung einer schlechten Verpackung herausredete) biete ich für dieses wertvolle Gerät, das im Übrigen auf der Oberseite eine mit dem Markenemblem versehene, abnehmbare Glasplatte besitzt, nur eine persönliche Übergabe an.
