Fantastic turntable with crystal clear sound. Ortofon 2M Black stylus ($700) is new with less than 10 hours on it. Acrylic dust cover is also new (replaced direct from Rega $100). Additional custom black vinyl dust cover included ($50). Original black felt platter mat included with the cork one ($20) in the photo. Sells for ~$2000 new with equivalent quality cartridge. No significant blemishes or defects. Im selling my record collection so Im also selling my turntable. No complaints while using it. Featuring a brand new tube which has increased rigidity to the bearinghousing, arm carrier and headshell coupled with intelligent redistribution ofmass, ensure this arm will exhibit fewer points of possible resonance. TTPSU power supply The compact TT-PSU uses a high stability crystal locked lowdistortion sine wave generator. This, along with an efficient drive amplifierfed from a stabilised DC power supply, generates a 24V AC balanced signal ofless than 0.05% distortion, which is completely un-affected by any changes inthe mains/line voltage and conditions. This then drives the improved Regaanti-vibration circuit built into the RP6 motor PCB. Platter adaptor The aluminium top hub adaptor is manufactured to the highesttolerance and uses a six point mounting system to ensure the platter and vinylis presented as flat as possible to the stylus. Clever use of lightweightparticulate core with a highly rigid phenolic resin skin became the foundationsof the high level of performance achieved by the now iconic Planar turntablerange. The latest generation of Rega turntables takes this design philosophy tothe next level. A super lightweight plinth combined with a phenolic resindouble brace mounted specifically where the increased rigidity is required(between the tonearm mounting and the main hub bearing) forms a structurallysound “stressed beam” assembly. This rigid plinth design prevents energyabsorption and unwanted resonances which will add unnatural distortions to themusic. Equally, heavier mass can transfer more unwanted energy such as motor orbearing noise directly into the rotating record. The use of braces instead ofthe complete skin allows double thickness phenolic resin in these key areaswhile providing further weight reduction to the plinth which directly addressesthe issue of mass absorption and unwanted energy transmission. 16MM Glass flywheel platter The RP6 features an innovative two piece platter design constructed from floatglass. Manufactured using a complex and labour intensive invisible UV curingbond technique the secondary ring platter is permanently bonded to theunderside of the main platter. The extra ring adds mass to the outercircumference which increase the natural flywheel effect of the platterimproving speed stability, accuracy and consistency. 24V Low noise motor The motor is a high specification, 24V twin phasesynchronous unit which has the anti vibration circuit hand tuned to each motorand is controlled by Regas unique and innovative TTPSU power supply.
