Here i am selling my fathers Michell Gyrodec Turntable. I endeavour to be as honest as possible with the description, however please be aware i am not a Hi-Fi expert. I am selling this on behalf of my father who is selling his house and downsizing, unfortunately this includes his stereo system and sadly the Gyrodec has got to go. Plinth & Lid This the full plinth model including hinged lid and dates from the early to mid 1980s.The plinth and lid are in good condition with no chips or deep scratches. This is not the clear plinth but rather the smoked acrylic one.The plinth also features the brass Gyrodec Badge, the brass itself has become mottled over time (my dad wasnt one for polishing) this can be seen in picture two. However i am sure that brasso should revive it. TurntableThe turntable is in good working condition and has been tested at both 33 1/3 & 45rpm and works perfectly. The bearing oil just been replaced. It is worth mentioning that there is an ever so slight grinding noise coming from the spindle. This is presumably due to thrust ball within the spindle becoming slightly worn. This is an easy fix as the thrust ball can be accessed without tools and i am told that a new thrust ball can acquired from Michell. This noise is only audible when there is no music playing, and is barely noticeable. I only bring it up to be as honest as possible. Something else worth pointing out is that the suspension towers are missing the caps/covers. To my knowledge i dont ever remember these being on the turntable. However should you want to replace them i am told that Michell can supply them. Tonearm & Cartridge The Turntable has recently been refitted with an unbadged Rega RB-250 Tonearm after the wiring on the previous RB-250 became damaged. Although the current tonearm does not have any Rega branding on it (it previously was fitted to a Technics deck) comparing it to the removed arm it is absolutely identical and clearly an RB-250.The tonearm is in good working order. As im sure the eagle eyed among you will have noticed the turntable is fitted with a relatively cheap Audio Technica cartridge. Although it is perfectly functioning it has only been fitted to demonstrate that the turntable is in working order. It would be assumed that whoever purchases the turntable would want to fit a more suitable cartridge, however i will still include the Audio Technica in the sale. Power Supply The unit comes with the Michell Gyropower PSU unit. This was an upgrade and a passive device with a transformer and extensive RLC filtering of the motor voltage. I have been told that these sell between £200-£400 To Summarise this is a fantastic turntable and is in good working order with the exception of the bearing noise. It would benefit from being set up by somebody with more experience and expertise than myself. It also would be worth considering having it serviced, bearing it mind it is at least 30 years old. Die höhenverstellbaren Spikes mit Unterlagen sind von Dynavox, der zweilagige Floatglas-Plattenteller ruht silikongelagert auf einem neuen Alu-Spinner von Astor. Der legendäre 9- Tonarm RB 303 ist mit eingebautem Anti-Skating sowie mit einstellbarer Auflagekraft ausgestattet. Der Motor sowie seine Steuereinheit sind nagelneu - das aktuelle 24V-Motor-Upgrade-Kit von Rega. Neu ist natürlich auch der Antriebsriemen. Für einfachere Umschaltung von 33 auf 44 rpm sowie einen verbesserten Gleichlauf sorgt das TT-PSU. Das Rack selbst ist in einem sehr schönen Ferrarirot ohne jegliche Kratzer. Versteigerung ohne Haube! Der Plattenspieler wird ausdrücklich ohne den auf den Fotos ersichtlichen Tonabnehmer versteigert! Klanglich ist an diesem RP 6 absolut nichts auszusetzen. Ich habe ihn mit mehreren hochklassigen Systemen betrieben, zuletzt mit dem Rega-eigenen Apheta II. Damit klingt das Ganze überaus stimmig und gut. Der 6er muss nun allerdings einem 8er weichen. Die Zeitschrift Connect hat den 1.300-Euro-Spieler - meines Erachtens vollkommen zu Recht - in die High-End-Klasse eingestuft. Rega P3 Turntable with TT PSU Lovely condition. Will be shipped with an Audio Technical cartridge which sounds great. Also included is a TT PSU. With this you can change speeds without taking the platter off. The TT PSU also provides a more consistent speed which improves sound quality. It really is a must-have addition. Very slight cleaning marks on dust cover which is almost unavoidable with these covers, other than that I can see no faults. Collection in person preferable, but can post as I have the original box. I do not use EVRI.

There are two belts but both are kind of loose. So, it will needs new belts. Good physical condition with some wear and scratches due to use. There are also some paint chips here and there.
