Very good condition. Tested. Working. It sounds great. New rega brand belt. The dust cover has some scratches and very faint paint splatters. The cantilever looks like it is slightly bent to me. High output Moving coil Cartridge. It sounded pretty balanced when I played it. 33 rpm records sound perfect, but If you try to play 45 rpm records, they sound too fast. Very low noise floor on the turn table.

Custom Rega Planar 3 with Denon DP-790 tonearm. Comes with new tonearm cables and ground wire. New silicone damping feet. Glass platter is free of any defects and the [plinth is in excellent. Deck strobed and is right on the money.

I immediately swapped this platter at the dealer on my new Planar 3 for a Groovetracer Delrin platter. Honestly not sure it was worth it to upgrade because this is a lovely, heavy platter. (This is the case with too many audiophile products.) But I am going to hang on to the Delrin because its theoretically better...and I like the color. This platter has been sitting in my closet unused since I bought the turntable. I am moving next year and its time to sell this off. High-Performance Glass Platter This platter is made by Rega for the Rega Planar 3 turntable. It is also compatible with Rega P2, RP3, P3-24, and P5 turntables. This 12mm-thick (0.5), 295mm-diameter (11.6) platter is made from float glass with an Optiwhite polished edge. It looks stunning and is a high-performance, precision engineered platter.

My photographs dont really illustrate this - sorry. A suitable tonearm & cartridge will complete this, shellac-aimed, project. This turntable is 240Vac mains operated with only 78rpm rotation speed provided. If preferred, a two-stage(33rpm / 45rpm) motor pulley could be fitted. A Planar 2 plinth would then exist, albeit with incorrect labelling. I could carry out this task, on request. Rega Planar 78 Original Glass Platter Version Pristine. I have owned this from new, having bought it at The Sound Gallery in early 1989, and have literally used it once or twice. It has been carefully stored in its original box in a dry room (not the loft!) It includes every single item that was originally in the box, all pristine. My other turntable (not for sale!) is a full fat lp12 so I know how to look after such gear. It comes with a RB250 arm and Goldring 850 78 cartridge; the arm is pristine, free, no play. The cartridge/stylus has had no wear but of course, after this time, it would be wise to check how it (the cartridge) plays. I’d also say that the turntable fundamentally runs fine, but the belt is a bit tired from age, especially as the one silly thing I did was leave it on its pulley. From memory I was very pleasantly surprised to find that 78s can have a richer, more bassy sound than I expected. Rega’s manufacturing precision tbh puts Linn in the shade, and this item is no exception. This is a delicate item; I will post if necessary, but of course collection would be ideal. So the postage you see is just a starter - we can discuss and I ALWAYS refund any postage not paid by me. As a point of integrity I never make money out of postage. If you collect, there are a kallax - box - worth of 78s, roughly 30-40, which you can have for free. Many are eminently playable as my Dad cared for them nicely.

The chassis has a very nice looking cherry wood frame and is low resonance. High quality audio cables are attached. Included is the optional REGA TT PSU exterior power supply which enhances the sound. No cartridge is included. The turntable is in very nice Near Mint condition with very light wear. The tonearm has some wear in the cartridge connect slots but otherwise is excellent. The chassis has very light wear. The dustcover is excellent with light wear. Included is the original Owners Manual, Cartridge Alignment Protractor, and box with packing all in excellent condition. Shipping is $60.00 insured.
