Player was tested with industry standard Phillips SBC playability test CD (SBC 444 A) (not included for sale) and pass through all test tracks with no skipping or any audible distortion in sound, so laser and electronics can be considered in good shape. CD payer read and play all recorded media.Sounds amazing due to dual PCM63 DAC and Burr Brown output op amps, accompanied with 28 Rubicon Black Gatecapacitors.Also, player have adjustable dither feature for the fine sound tuning. I found mention that it plays Redbook CDs as well.When an HDCD disc is played an HDCD LED indicator illuminates. An Awesome CD Player at a very reasonable price.
