Die Konzerttruhe ist aus Edelholz im Barockstil angefertigt worden. Leider sind auf der Front und der Oberseite ein paar Wasserflecken. Die Truhe wird aber von außen nochmal komplett mit Renuwell eingelassen. Quad 22 preamp and two Quad 2 power amps, plus Quad FM tuner. I got these from an electronics engineer friend, who’s had them under his bed for 30 years. I powered up the 22 and the 2s with a variac over a period of a few hours, and they work. The controls are scratchy and they could no doubt do with a good going over, but they’re fundamentally sound. I didn’t try the tuner. They look unrestored and un-buggered about with, so an excellent basis for someone who wants some top quality vintage hi fi kit. Three of the KT66s are GEC branded, the other is unmarked. I did consider restoring them with new electrolytics etc, but people seem to have differing ideas of what should and shouldnt be done with such revered amps, and what kind of components should be used. If I were keeping them Id use modern parts but some prefer period correct capacitors and the like, so, as I have no use for them Im selling them as is so the new owner can do as they please. Im happy to drive up to 100 miles for the cost of the diesel to meet a new owner. Id rather not ship them, but if you want to arrange a courier yourself with Interparcel or similar, I will pack them as well as I possibly can (valves removed and bubble wrapped). Im near Peterborough.Advertised elsewhere.
