QUAD FM2 / FM II TUNER Spares And Repairs - Powers on and picks up stations but the output is very quiet. I only tried it with a normal amplifier (NOT a Quad), so maybe thats why? Please note, it gets a bit hot after about 10 minutes. Used condition with age related marks. Would benefit from a clean - Inside and outside.

Quad 22 preamp and two Quad 2 power amps, plus Quad FM tuner. I got these from an electronics engineer friend, who’s had them under his bed for 30 years. I powered up the 22 and the 2s with a variac over a period of a few hours, and they work. The controls are scratchy and they could no doubt do with a good going over, but they’re fundamentally sound. I didn’t try the tuner. They look unrestored and un-buggered about with, so an excellent basis for someone who wants some top quality vintage hi fi kit. Three of the KT66s are GEC branded, the other is unmarked. I did consider restoring them with new electrolytics etc, but people seem to have differing ideas of what should and shouldnt be done with such revered amps, and what kind of components should be used. If I were keeping them Id use modern parts but some prefer period correct capacitors and the like, so, as I have no use for them Im selling them as is so the new owner can do as they please. Im happy to drive up to 100 miles for the cost of the diesel to meet a new owner. Id rather not ship them, but if you want to arrange a courier yourself with Interparcel or similar, I will pack them as well as I possibly can (valves removed and bubble wrapped). Im near Peterborough.Advertised elsewhere.

QUAD FM2 Valve Tuner FMII. Really nice condition cosmetically but has backlash in the tuning slug. The two ECC81s are missing but otherwise complete. Good source of parts or could be repaired with parts from an FM1 which has the same tuner unit.

Leak Troughline II FM Tuner - quad tuner + spare valves etc. both these units are in very good cosmetic condition , all valves are present in the units and there are spare valves /knobs/leads/plugs etc , I found these stored and boxed up carefully , I haven’t tested these as I wouldn’t have a clue how these systems work , both facias are perfect so they will be useful to complete a leak or quad system
