Up for sale is the vintage Sony PS-X555ES Direct Drive Biotracer Quartz Linear Turntable. It is in good working condition and includes the Audio Technica ATN-120Ea cartridge and the 45 rpm adapter. The included headshell is NOT ORIGINAL. Dust cover is damaged and requires repair. Cosmetically in very good condition with a mostly clean plinth. There is a scratch on the right side above the front foot (pic #9) . Also, there is some white dots on the plinth above the space between START/STOP and right transport buttons (Pcs #2 and #7). The two plastic slots on the dust cover that the metal tabs slip into are broken (Pics #13-15), rendering the dust cover incapable of staying open and will require repair. Please refer to the pictures for all the cosmetic details. Functionally, the turntable is working properly. It is able to discern between 7 and 12 in records and move the tonearm accordingly to the correct starting location. The tonearm belt has been replaced and the track lubricated to ensure the tonearm moves smoothly. both 33 and 45 rpm records were tested and confirmed to play at proper speed (also checked with a strobe disc). Sound output is good from both channels although age of the stylus is unknown. The turntable will be packed in fitted foam with the platter removed and tonearm secured and shipped via FedEx ground.
