In pertinent part, they stated the following: The PerfectWave Transport is different from any other transport I have used, in that it reads the data off of the disc and feeds it into a memory buffer before sending it out. PS Audio also refers to this $4,000 disc transport as a Memory Player, a more apt title, as it hints at what sets this apart from other transports. The PerfectWave Transport will play back WAV files up to 192 kHz/24-bit on DVDs as well as standard CDs. The data is read by a multiple-read drive in a manner akin to Exact Audio Copy (a highly regarded audiophile CD reader) to obtain a bit perfect data stream. The data stream is fed to the Digital Lens memory (the Digital Lens is PS Audios jitter reduction device) and then sent out via a low jitter asynchronous clock. The digital output choices are AES/EBU (via XLR), I2S (via HDMI), Coax and Toslink. The seller particularly liked the I2S via HDMI digital output and included in this sale a QED Reference HDMI cord to use the HDMI digital output function. Also included is a power cord and original PS Audio box and padding. The PS Audio Lambda is a dedicated CD transport. It utilizes the highly regarded Philips CDM-9 Pro mechanism - a mechanism which features a rigid silver alloy metal chassis and vibration-free brushless DC Hall effect motor. It makes use of a high definition glass optical path, in which a diffraction grating is utilized as a beam splitter; with attendantly lower information loss as a result. Digital servo correction and reduced moving mass of the pickup assembly contribute to enhanced playability; and a special vibration resistant elastomeric suspension significantly improves performance in the mechanical domain. Three separate low flux transformers and thirteen individual stages of regulation are utilized. All critical circuits receive exceedingly clean supply voltage; and they are isolated from one another to an extent rarely seen in CD playback. A full complement of CD playback functions is available either via front panel touch controls, or a hand held IR remote control supplied with the unit. on the Lambda's rear panel is a coaxial digital output and an AES/EBU output. its output is standard, and it is compatible with a outboard D to A processor. I’m the original owner. Unit and remote are in excellent working condition. Very minor blemishes on top of cover and are Bailey noticeable. The ON lettering left of tray and OPEN/CLOSE to the right have some fading, both are still visible and readable.
