POLK AUDIO PSW 1000 DUAL 10 POWERED SUBWOOFER (custom) Subwoofer Story: Polk built these Subs, say.. nine plus years ago. They were amazing Subwoofers. However, their Amplifiers installed by Polk would fail... They failed a lot. The Subs were discontinued/recalled. The Amplifiers were removed and at some point they were bundled onto pallets, and sold as lots. So a guy I met (on eBay) was sort of an Audio enthusiast, and had a background in cabinet building. He was one of the individuals who bought these by the pallet. I saw him selling these on eBay, and discovered he was rather local to me. So, he offered these with a variety of Amps, and you could keep or replace the Polk Drivers. I had, at the time a wholesale account with Dayton Audio, So I had him install their 1000 watt max Plate Sub Amplifier in one of the Subs. He subsequently swapped out the Drivers for some really serious units from Elemental Design (no longer around) So, the result was this Subwoofer, that has the really amazing Polk Cabinet with Power Port (on the back) and more power and better drivers than Polk ever supplied. On movie-night this thing will shake the walls. I have not been using it in my main system, as I have in-wall Subs these days. So, it is time for this baby to find a new home. Whatever this sells for will be a bargain for the new owner. (todays version of just the Amp is $499.00) This is a Sub that will challenge units that cost well over a thousand dollars. Shipping will be high as I have to get a reinforced box (maybe double box) and, its over 100lbs. Thanks for looking/reading!

This was working and has been completely refurbished about eight months ago. It has all new silver wiring and so many parts in here I can’t name them off. Originally modified by Rick Colleen. Probably better than any of the new ones out there as far as sound quality is concerned, depending on your current power conditions, of course. I’m going to have to let this one go. I’ve sunk enough money into it. Already an embarrassing amount I will not disclose. I believe all it needs is caps, but I’m not sure because I heard a popping sound. I believe from the black cap in the picture. You see caps completely replaced along with countless other parts. It was working brilliantly for eight months straight . There will be absolutely no refunds on this whatsoever since I’m selling it as is /parts machine. However, most of the parts in here are about 6 to 8 months old. This is as far as I’m going to take it. Next audio file up gets this item. Shipping in the original box double boxed from PS audio original packaging. Ideal for the tech out there that loves clean power and that can repair this. May need board replace or retrace.
