I have a stand-by amp (Bel Canto Design) and I admit I am obsessed with balanced (XLR) components, so since that day the HCA-2 has been sitting. 150 WPC into 8, 225 into 4, fully balanced internal architecture, RCAs if you desire. Runs so cool, produces almost no heat. Has a few tiny marks on top, but face and rear are quite clean and look great. Some scratches on bottom. The amp has been serviced, including replacing defective output transistors, and setting the DC offset. The amp was then put on our bench where it went through our amplifier testing process. A 1k sine wave was run into the amp, while monitoring the output on our scope via a sine wave for signs of distortion or noise. Once we established there were no issues, we then slowly ran the amp up to full rated power using a dummy load provided by our Sencore PA81 power amplifier analyzer. The amp performed as it should and ran clean at 150 watts per channel at 8 ohms. Finally, we ran the amp in one of our house systems for several days where it performed beautifully. Physically the unit is in very good to excellent condition, with only minor blemishes, no dents, and no deep scratches. See pictures for further details on its physical condition. I bought this from the estate of an audiophile. This PS Audio HCA-2 stereo power amplifier is in great condition and it sounds great. I let it run for 2 hours while I enjoyed it and it didnt even get warm. When I moved it and tilted on its side I could hear something heavy move inside, so I took the cover off and a very large coil inside the unit is not firmly affixed to the case (see photo). When I ship it I will unplug the coil and wrap it separately so it doesnt get damaged. It is light in weight (35 pounds), but the unique, heavy-duty circuitry produces 150 beautiful sounding watts per channel and it never, ever breaks a sweat. I bought this from the estate of an audiophile. This PS Audio HCA-2 stereo power amplifier is in great condition and it sounds great. I let it run for 2 hours while I enjoyed it and it didnt even get warm. When I moved it and tilted on its side I could hear something heavy move inside, so I took the cover off and a very large coil inside the unit is not firmly affixed to the case (see photo). When I ship it I will unplug the coil and wrap it separately so it doesnt get damaged.
