Rare and in near perfect condition combination of Proton D1200 stereo power amp and 1100 Pre-amplifier, both items in perfect working order, cases are in mint condition, not scratched in any way and the clear front faceplate on the D1200 is absolutely immaculate. I am only selling because I moved onto collecting 1970’s silver faced equipment vs black 1980’s gear. If you have proactively searched for this very rare pre/power amp combination then you need no explanation - however, this is a highly attractive set featuring massive Dynamic Power on Demand circuitry that provides a quite extraordinary dynamic headroom of 7.3dB…translating into independent tests that demonstrate some of the highest power outputs seen in this type of equipment. Google “HiFi Classic.net” review for full specs but noteworthy that they measured bursts of close to 600w RMS per channel into 8ohm speaker loads, and well over 1000w per channel into 4ohm loads. Better still, watch the YouTube video entitled “1985 Proton D1200 Amp review & Dyno test” by Williston Audio Labs - their data is conclusive, this is a fabulous piece of old school HiFi kit.
