ProAc Response 1SC Speakers Theres little to say about these legendary speakers that hasnt already been said. They have an almost mythical reputation and with good reason too - for they remain unbettered when partnered with tube or class A amplification and are able to produce pure magic with acoustic and spoken word music. Even the ProAc D1 (the model that replaced the 1SC) and ProAc DB1 (the D1s replacement) cannot match the 1SC at their very best. If the 1SC do have a weakness then it is is their need for extraordinarily heavy stands - but sit them on something like Target R2 or R4 speaker stands or Partington Dreadnought or Broadside speaker stands (filled preferably) and they will astonish with their imaging and musicality. Note: these are the revised 1SC model featuring sealed rear panels. Early 1SC speakers have removable rear panels distinguishable by the 12 screws on the back. The revised version supposedly sound a little better.
