An excellent low noise pre-amp, suitable for boosting the levels of most types of mono or stereo microphone to drive an amplifier. The Two INPUTS are individual quarter-inch TRS Jack sockets, and this is very sensitive (needing only a max of 7mV into a 10k load. We have used an identical unit with low level magnetic mikes for some years. We got this extra unit as a stand-by but ours has been excellent and this standby one has never needed to be used. The OUTPUT is via a pair of RCA Phono plugs which delivers 3.2v Max into a load of 47k - more than enough drive for the deafest amplifier. Has an excellent signal to noise radio of greater than 63 dB and a gain of 53dB - more than adequate for almost any microphone, or indeed phono cartridge. The box declares its frequency range to be from 5 Hz to 60 kHz - we cant hear that high, but its certainly excellent to almost 20 kilohertz. It is effectively a TWO CHANNEL Mic amplifier, but both channels are identical in response so it can be described as stereo. We know of one used as a phono pre-amp, plenty of gain on board for that too. The pre-amplifier is built into a metal box, giving good isolation from nearby electromagnetic fields. A diagram on the back of the box shows how the pre-amplifier would be connected and use in the normal course opf audio work. While the box is beginning to look a bit tired (but no tears or splits) in fact this unit is new and has never been in circuit - it is NEW but has been sat on a shelf in our workshop for some years now, held in stock for another identical unit, which has never gone wrong. The stock-room is in a heated and a non-smoking home so is, to all intents & purposes, brand new. POWER: The unit is powered by a 3 pin 12v UK plug wall wart supply delivering up to 100mA.
